Default Need advice from the verterans...no newbies!!!!

Alright, im feeling like making an upgrade from my 8800gt 256, and ive narrowed it down to these two suckers so far:

Newegg.com - XFX PVT88GYDD4 GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics

Newegg.com - MSI N9600GT 512M OC GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics

Im more towards the 9600gt, since its cheaper and has a nice cooler on it (temps are too high with my 8800gt) and i play at 1680x1050 at the moment...plus the high core/mem clocks should put it at the same level as the 8800gt 512.......which would you go with??

Newegg.com - MSI NX8800GTS 512M OC GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics

Cheaper 8800 gts g92 if you want that.

You know which ones better already so i don't have to tell you that...

Why are you not considering a 8800 gt 512?

Edit: If you decide to go with that 9600 gt, i just want to say that i like the look of that cooler on it.

Well im really liking the cooler on that 9600gt, and i want a dual slot cooler cause my room is really hot at night, and my card is suffering some high temps. Its causing the inside of my case to get real hot, and my cpu temp to skyrocket.

So im getting two new 120mm fans to replace these low speed ones, and a new card with dual slot cooler. If its gonna be a gts, xfx is the only one i want. But yea i really like that cooler on the 9600gt, and id rather spend under $200 this time around.

I would go for the gts. Personally I just can't do a upgrade unless its a decent boost.

Well i don't know the comparisons between the 8800 gt 256 and the 9600 gt, I would think the 9600 gt would be better. But your not making a huge upgrade... For less then $30 you can just buy this
Petra's Tech Shop

It's supposed to be a HUGE improvement over stock cooling for the price, as you can see here.

8800 GT Accelero S1 installation & results! (With Pics!) - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

But if you are just looking for an upgrade in gpu all together then that 9600 gt looks great.

p.s again!

I bought the accelero s1 also cause i was dissatisfied with my temps (not my clocks... they are beastly!)

It is a nice boost...an oc'd 9600gt 512 is the same as an 8800gt 512. And i have an 8800gt 256, so it would be a good boost for me.

Lol, fugly cooler. Naw i really want a 512mb card so i can play with 4XAA also.

I forgot to say....i might go sli as well, so the 9600gt would be an even better choice also.

Even though you seem to have your mind set on the 9600gt, I think you should get a 8800gts g92, because the 9600gt would be almost a downgrade
