Ok I've changed the mobo to Asus P5Q-E, I'm considering changing the q6600, but I have a couple of questions.

First of all, assuming that I overclock the q6600 to 3.0Ghz, will it still be a better idea to get the E8400?

Secondly, which RAM should I get instead of the ballistics then?

Also, is it worth the extra money to get the 4870 over the 4850?

depends on the applications you run... for the meantime.. not too much is set multi-threaded for 4 cores.. so an e8400/8500 will be better for your everyday life... and heck, even games

unless you do video editing/ graphic design.. i woudnt count on 4 cores.. go with a dualie.. i loved my old e8500.. more so than my q6700
