I think you have to measure the amp load at the outlet.

I don't recommend YOU go testing it because you could get hurt from electric shock.

oh man, you should see my multimeter, one of these generic ones:
Does a swell job though. I'm assuming the main strength of a quality multimeter is how precise it can be and the accuracy of the numbers.
