Default My new rig plan

The computer I have right now is just about on its 2 year birthday and showing its age. I think the time is coming to retire it.... I will probably consider building shortly before or after christmas.

I am about 115% sure this will change by the time it comes to order but right now this is what I am looking at.

CPU: Q6600 hopefullly the g0 stepping
Motherboard: Gigabyte p35- DS3R
RAM: Crucial Ballistixs (spelling) 2gb's
Power supply: Rosewill 550watt, here is the link. Newegg.com - Rosewill RP550-2 550W,ATX12V v2.01 Power Supply 115/230V CSA, CB, TUV, FCC, UL - Retail I know there 400w series was good. what about this one?

Graphics card: EVGA 8800gts 320mb
Hard drive: Western Digital sata2 320gig
Case: Antec P180
Monitor: samsung 226bw 22in. widescreen
Speakers: 2.1 logitech z-2300 200watt
sound card: undecided.

Does this sound like a good setup? All together it is $1400 with MIR's..

Looks just about the same as the majority of the recommended builds, over here. So it's good. The RP550 models from Rosewill, are probably their best and most stable models.

But for only about $20+ more, can get you a Corsair 520HX or an XClio GREATPOWER 550w, which are even more powerful and stable. And will give you more headroom for future upgrades.

Pfff, ill probably wont build my new build until 5 years from now or when this comp starts dying. Hope it wont happen till 5 years from now. Gonna go to water cooling on 5 years and do some SLI's or Crossfire depends on who has the lead.

You will be surprised, I figured in 2 years I would just drop a cpu and more ram in this thing...... socket 939, not gonna happen.

Yeah go with the p35-ds3*, the support for the new intel chips should last you a while.
