-AMD 3GHZ+ Dual Core Processor
-NVIDIA 512mb PCI Express 2.0 Video Card
-2GB (1GB x 2 Dual Channel) PC6400 RAM (with heat sinks)
-680W Power supply
-320GB Seagage HDD
-NZXT Apollo Case

Not specific at all... 512mb PCI-e 2.0 narrows it down to like 3 or 4 different cards... but I'll guess 9800GTX or GTX+ ?

6000+ wasn't exactly the best choice.. Intel has better offerings right now

512mb PCI-e 2.0 includes 8500's, 8600's, 9400's, 9500's, 9600's...

I think you should let us build one for you, just to be safe, cause your friend looks like he is a beginner by the way he sent those part specs. So what is your budget? And are you buying the monitor/speakers/mouse/keyboard? Or just the case and parts?

Get him to write down the names of the hardware his ordering and their pricing. Then it is much easier to establish whether you have a nice PC or not.
