Hello everyone, i am building a new computer and this is going to be my first desktop. In the past i have only bought laptops and i think its time for a change. Here is my newegg parts list, please let me know if i have everything i need and if everything is compatible. Any suggestions are also appreciated, I would like to keep as close to $1500 as possible. If you see something that is overkill compared to the rest of the system, please let me know. Thanks for the help!

Most of your links are broken. :(

From what you have with no aftermarket heatsink artic silver 5 is unnecessary. It you needed paste get TX-2 instead.

Sorry about that, it should b fixed now. I copied from another post on a different forum and it copied the "..." in the addresses

I don't plan on doing any overclocking right now, maybe in the future i will get a better fan and the paste for overclocking, thx

I will have to think about that. I have always preferred Nvidia to ATI, but that doesn't mean i wont change my mind

Only get 4GB of ram.

Why only 4GB? my laptop is running windows 7 and is using almost 2GB of my 4GB from startup

The mother board supports DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800
and the ram is DDR3 1600

Will that work?

I am also alittle worried about some of the reviews for that board. There are quite a few bad ones.

I am very impressed with the card though, looked at some charts and it was much better tha the one i was going to get in almost all cases

If i were to switch out the cards, only get 4 GB of the ram i chose , get the power supply you showed, keep my mobo and CPU, it would be about the same as what u have, would that work?

All of my products are better, except for the motherboard, but this is the x58 chipset which will allow you to upgrade to a 6-core intel later on if you wish. Don't worry about the newegg reviews, they should be taken as a grain of salt as we like to say here at TF. The UD3R is a great board and will allow for great overclocks also. Since its a x58A model you also get SATA 6gb/s and USB3 which may come in handy for future upgrades.

Almost all cases? I think it would be impossible to find a situation where the 5770 beats the 5870:p

could you answer my question about the ram please?

Also, i am not to sure about the layout of the board. If i ever get a tv tuner it probably won't fit because of the placement of the ports
