Default My first build...

Hello guys, I'm building my first system and is wondering if I have missed anything or have any compatibility issues. Mainly using this PC for light gaming and movie watching, nothing too extreme.

This is what I have now:

Case:
Newegg.com - NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT White Steel / Plastic Enthusiast ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Power Supply:
Newegg.com - PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 500W Modular 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom

CPU:
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770

Motherboard:
Newegg.com - ASRock H77 Pro4-M LGA 1155 Intel H77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

HDD & SSD:
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Memory:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9

Video Card:
Newegg.com - EVGA 015-P3-1480-KR GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Optical drive:
Newegg.com - ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - CD / DVD Burners

Feel free to suggest any better or cheaper parts that suits my use. And I want to keep my budget around $1,000, lesser the better of course. Thanks!

Few problems here. Firstly, no point in having a 3770 or i7 if you aren't doing anything really CPU demanding. Grab a 3570k instead to save yourself a hundred bucks.
Instead of the H77 I would grab a Z77 or Z75. You want a full tower case, so might as well have a standard ATX board too.

HDD/SSD look good.

That kit you have linked is a triple channel kit. You want 2 or 4 sticks. Little hint here, games do not use more than 3GB of RAM, neither does movie watching. 8GB will do just fine.

480 is a heat monster and there is better for the money. If you want to keep the GPU around 200 bucks then grab a 660 instead. If you can part with a little more than a 660ti would be perfect, but the 660 is still faster than a 480.

Last but not least, grab a Corsair PSU instead. For 10 bucks more get the Corsair TX650.

Agree with P.P.

The psu cholose was/is a great psu, get the most upgrade path and "cushion" room by going 650W

PSUs work most effeciently under under 85% load

You should take pics, bench, and post over in the OC/Mod section. Just search for the 3dmark thread =)
