You picked out the wrong motherboard. You need a lga775 socket motherboard.

The gigabyte ds3 is about the same price as the other board you picked out but you won't be able to sli with it. Running sli on the conroes is kinda expensive right now unlease you go with a asus p5w-deluxe (w/ hacked drivers), but you won't see alot of improvement with that compared to the 680i chipset motherboards.

you might have trouble hooking up that old HDD and optical drives with the new motherboards since most of them only have one ata 100 connection now.

HDD are really inexpensive these days. Can you shell out an extra $45 for a WD sataII 80gb. Other then that you will prob need to get a pci-ata 100 card to run that old hdd and optical drives, but you might as well get the new HDD for all that trouble.

Ya that 80gig will work fine. And if that most any cd drive is comaptible. It will just use the 1 ide controller on your motherboard.

Other than that, as long as you have the other ds3 (lga775) motherboard it looks good.

yep that build looks solid. The case you picked out is a very good case for the price, and will keep your compents cool with a 120mm fan for exhaust and a 80mm fan for intake.

Sry about linking that HDD to newegg. I don't know what i was thinking .
