yes.. this week, i do have alot of money.. and the 6800 is nice... but, i'm trying to compete with my friend.. and this 6800 gs, just won't do it, i'm hoping to get dual 7800 gt/x 256's overclock them and make a run for my friends dual 512's.. he only scored about 13,000 on 3dmark 05 on his alien, so hopefully i can shoot him down on a budget

Definatly get a new psu, the one that comes with the XION 2 is a P.O.S (i talk from experiance). Use 2x1gb for your RAM setup. Having 4x512mb actually slows down.

would it be faster to use 4x 512 mb sticks or 2x 1 gb stick since my board is dual channel

2x1gb, btw a 512mb x1600pro is a rip off, it's not fast enough to even use half of that. get a 6800gs instead, same price but it will be faster. also, get a seperate psu by fps group. Oh one other thing, if you are going to be overclocking, DO NOT get the 3500+, they are known to be some of the worse overclockers. Get a 3200+ or opty 146 instead.

trying to tell me how to spend my money, very odd... and raptors and fx series are a waste of money as well.. but people still buy those now don't they? if i had a crossfire board, i would go for the x1900xt.. but.. i don't, so i'm either going with 2 7800gt's or 2 7800gt/x's... one for now, the other with the next paycheck.. yes the x1900xt is very tempting.. i'm even actually considering it seeing as its 3d mark scores are almost 10,000 with only 1 on the xt model, i guess i'll do more research and get back to you on that one.
