Hey guys, I'm pretty new at understanding computer hardware and all that jazz and i'm planning on building my own gaming computer because i feel like it'd not only be a great experience but it'd help me get more familiar with computers. One thing i'm having trouble understanding is compatibility. It'd be a huge bummer if i ordered all my parts and they ended up not getting along with each other, so i figured i'd ask some people who know what they're doing (a.k.a. you guys). So can you guys tell me if my build's compatible. Also, if you know of a better quality component for a better deal or something along those lines, feel free to speak up. Thanks!

Alright guys, I need a little help with my build.

Hey guys, So i've run into a bit of trouble. I'm trying to build a computer this christmas and I'm basically completely lost. I saw a shiny combo deal on newegg that looked like it'd work splendidly, but now i'm starting to doubt if it would be enough performance for me. What I'm looking for is a computer that can run games such as tf2, league of legends, Heroes of Newerth, etc. Nothing too strenuous, but I'd still like them at a nice resolution. I'm already set on the video card (My mom agreed to get me a Radeon HD 6870 or something around the same price as her gift to me), but i'm looking for a build that would not only support that card, but also perform pretty well. Here's the combo deal I mentioned earlier:
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more! $383 all together.

- Processor: Newegg.com - AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6100WMGUSBX

- Motherboard: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-880GM-USB3 AM3+ AMD 880G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

- PSU: Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS500-PCARD3-US 500W ATX12V v2.3 Power Supply

- RAM: Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-4GBXM (I'm just gonna buy another set of 2x2GB)

- Hard Drive: Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

- Case: Newegg.com - Rosewill RANGER-M Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

I feel lik that PSU wouldn't have enough power for the Video Card, and i have a few other doubts as well. I know it's a lot to ask, but could you guys recommend a good processor and motherboard for me? I always seem to be pretty bad at picking those out. Also, how many watts would be ideal for the PSU? Thanks a lot, guys!

Re: Alright guys, I need a little help with my build.

whats your budget and do you need windows.

My budget is probably no more than $700 without the video card. Kinda tight, but i'm hoping it's manageable. And i don't think i'll need a copy of Windows, i have an installation CD laying around somewhere

Which PSU would you recommend?
