Default MSI X800 vs. eVGA 6600GT

Which one is better?

Well they're pretty close. If you were to compare plain numbers, the X800 would win, but it lacks SM3.0 support (increases performance, 6600GT has it). Take that as you will, ATi has driver issues and the X800 series was regarded as extremely crappy, but from looking at it, sems the X800 would win.

How much can you spend? A 6800GS would out-do a X850Pro even.

If all you're looking at is FPS, then probably X800

at the end of the day, anything would be better than my current gpu, the highly regarded i725 graphics controller with a whopping 4mb ram.....you wanna touch me don't you

If you can spring the xtra few bucks i'd say go witht he 6800GS, that card will wipe the floor witha X800
