Default moving around

will an airport scanner do any damage to the hard drive. i got a friend that needs to bring his hdd down for me to work on a i was wondering if its safe to do so.

I think they use X-rays.
if they were magnetic, then there's a chance it could do damage, although even if it was, hard drives are pretty heavily shielded against anything, including dust (one piece of dust can wreak havoc inside a hard drive)

I'm not sure. I'll see if I can find one, and I'll test how magnets work through it

i should be right people take laptops though every day and their doesn't seem to be much between the drive and the outside
