I was wondering if i will really notice a difference in performance if i get a really nice motherboard as opposed to the cheapest. I'm building a new system so i don't mind spending more for better parts but only if its worth it

The only restrictions i have is the cpu: AMD X2 AM2 chipset

what say you?

I'd recommend the MSI K9N Platinum.. been extremely reliable for me, and looks cool too :p

As far as I know the more expensive the better at overclocking, then again I would not go spending 50 bucks for the motherboard, it is the spine of your computer you do not want to cheap it, but then again I would not go buying a 250 dollar one seems like overkill.

Mine was $111.00 but then again I do not overclock.

Yeah I think basically, more expensive GENERALLY means more features, and better reliability.
