Motherboard for OCing the e8400

Nvidia boards clock just as high as everything else. But nvidia boards also run hotter than hades and tend to burn up a lot easier than an intel chipset based board. That being said, get either a p35 board or an x38 if you plan on crossfire in the future. The 780i is just a 680i with pci-e2.0 slots and whatever extra wiring was needed to run the 45nm quads.

ok, I think I am gonna go with the gigabyte x38, even though I hate the **** coloring. Why cant it just be black?

The ds4 or dq6? If you have a cooler with a backplate, you cant use it on the dq6. Fair warning.

yeah, I really like the look of the evga 780i, nice and dark. I will consider all of these. Who knows which is better, DS4, or P5e? I think those are my last two choices. I dont care THAT much that it is dark, so if one is better, I will obviously get the one that is better. Thanks for all the input.

the p5e comes with the supreme fx 2 sound card which is actually preaty good, all my games preset sound quality to high now. with mine.

I dont know why everyone hates the nVidia chipset boards i have a 680i striker extreme and its been wonderful haveing it i wouldint get anything else and you can always go sli if you want to.
