motherboard help

ok so i have two options of computers and they come with different motherboard options i need to know whats the best way to go for a little video rendering and recording and very high quality gaming.

computer 1 motherboards have Intel X79 Chipset, Quad Channel DDR3, S-ATA 3.0 RAID, 2x USB 3.0, 2x SATA 6Gb/s, 8-ch HD Audio, Gb LAN, 3x PCI-E 2.0 x16, SLI, and CrossFireX supported

The components of your computer make your speed like the CPU and GPU, not the motherboard in question. To really give you a good answer, I need to know either where you are building or what your other component options are. For the record, I'm not a fan of pre-built systems.

Motherboards have really no difference in performance these days. The difference between the computers you've listed is the processor. Go with the Z77 board that has the features you would like (I.E. USB 3, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) and the 3770K. If you are wanting to do some serious editing just fill up the Z77 with 32GB of RAM and you'll be golden.

Just my opinion, can get a good heat sink and overclock it if you wish.

I5 3570k and 8 -16g ram should be more than enough. I just ordered a sabertooth z77 motherboard, reviews good, youtube video looks good, but I can't verify its 1337ness until the 26th

Any reason for chosing the GPU you picked out?

I believe it's a pre-built setup. I too would not chose the 7970 over a 680.

Because he wants to do a lot of video editing and the 3770K will eat the 3570K in that aspect and the choices were 3770K or 3820 read.

Should most definitely get the 680, will help with editing a lot more then 7970, good enough reason alone.

The I5 3570k would be more than fine.

I'd suggest a GTX 660 or 660TI for a GPU.

Yet read the choices. It looks like he's buying pre-built which is a sad case, but those might be his only choices and or what he really wants.

Yes the 3570K will do everything a 3770K will do, gaming wise 100% no difference, editing there's a time difference, doesn't seem like he's bothered by the money. If I was buying a 7970/680 I'd buy the 3770K to go with it if I was doing any editing period. If you've ever edited and rendered a long video, wait times can be very annoying.

If he was really bothered by the money aspect he would probably have a budget listed.

In terms of CPUs listed the 3770k would tear up that 3820. Despite the 3820 being SB-E it's still SB architecture meaning the 3770k will be faster.

In terms of GPU he said high end gaming. 680 marks the spot.
