i am changing my motherboard so that i can change my processor and nothing else. If i keep my hard drive will i still need windows xp to install the new mobo? I alredy know all my pieces are compatible.
the only thing extra i need to know is if all hard drives are compatible with any motherboard. And if so how do i know if it is or not?

thx.

ask away if u need more info

If you have a plain IDE Hard Drive, then yes, it will work. All IDE HD's work with just about any motherboard. Also, yes you will need to reinstall XP. Some people have been able to start up with the new config, and just repair the installation, but I've tried it and it never has worked.
