As far as ram a lot of ddr2 is overclockable. I can run my Patriot ddr2 800 at ddr2 1067mhz or maybe higher if I loosened the timings.
They were 200 bucks 2 months ago on newegg - they're driving the prices of RAM wayyyyy up.

Gigabyte DS3 is an okay board, also good for OC'ing... cheaper than the P5B Dlx, but the DS3 only has one PCIe slot.
