not going to name off other stuff, but go for the 24" widescreen dell monitor for a nice middleman. the 30" is prolly best out there but its 2,000 dollars. get 4 gigs of ram.

LOL, the I Ram acts as a hard drive itself. It is a pci card with 4 memory slots and holds 4 gigs of ram. That is why he suggested that much. It can only fit windows on it but will run faster than to raptor in raid.

i would go with a conroe system....

Intel conroe E6800 is rumored to cost about $750

for a motherboard idk yet because there hasnt been alot released yet but expect to pay around $200-$300

for ram get the most ex*****ve corsair 2 gb pack

harddrives get 2 150 gb raptors about $350 each and then 2 Wd se16 500gb harddrives for like $200 each

then get a nvidia G80 ard when they come out

pc power and cooling 1kw psu for $500

a lan li v series case for like $300

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite for $385

logitech z 5450 spakers dor $300

and whatever monitor you decide

dont get the 5450's the wireless rear channel suffers from static and poor sound quality. Go for the tried and true z-5500's

As for the hard drives, Grab 2 74gig raptors, and 2 750gig Seagate Barracuda drives

I dont think he'd even need a 1kw psu for that system, seeing as the Conroe uses the new 65nm resulting in lower voltage requirements and thus lower heat output. Not sure on the g80 but it probably will be sometihng along the same lines. Seeing the way gpu hsf's are getting so much smaller all the time. i.e. Asus 6800gt tdk to the 7950gt heatsinks

I agree with AnthraX, my laptop monitor has higher resolution then any of those TV's they listed. And it's a 15.4"

Go with either the Dell 30" or the Apple 30" Display. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...oa/wo/0.RSLID?mco=955BB9EF&nclm=AppleDisplays

They are both equaly excellent, and have the same specs. Your choice, I think the Apple is more expensive though.

And if you want the most insane computer ever, don't even mess with Serial ATA, get 15k rpm SCSI drives.

lol i strongly suggest getting I-RAM for your OS and 2 raptors your size choice

lol who ever helped clear up I-RAM thanks i was away all day so couldnt reply and tell them it acts as a hdd

why would u spend so much an a monitor which would have less resolution, but since its so big u would need a really expensive card rig like x1900xtx in xfire to run it....decently? your waiting for conroe, which is good. now with that said. theoretically lets say that a 8800GTX will cost about $570. allright now lets build u a system and lets just say that the conroe E6600 and the mobo will add up to a total of $550. so we got 570x2 +550= $1590 is down.
