More memory or next in series?

1920x1080 is probably the point at which more video memory would start to give noticable improvements
at 1680x1050 you might benifit slightly, but it probably won't be noticable.

at 2560x1600, you would definitely want a 1GB card (though a 512MB 4870 would still run faster than a 1GB 4850; however, the gap gets smaller)

Yeh the 4870 512gb would be the best option. But at that res it would be worth just saving a little more for the 1gb version.

512gb? holy cow! I want a 512gb card.... just imagine the pwnage you could do... on a HUGE resolution.. above even life sized....

I plan to get the 1GB version, but I am waiting for the 4890 series to pop out and drive prices down, or to compete with the 4870s now, to see if I buy a 90 instead.
