I think monitors will be always better than tv`s because of the response time and resolutions it can handle.....
Lcd tv´s problem is size.. more bigger means less fast, but tvs are also improving all features. In the mean time i recommend you to wait for the Benq FP241W Z version.
It´s a very fast monitor .. the first with HDMI input for any HD components you have. 24"
