I have a "computer-stupid" friend.... but he has a problem with his monitor always going into standby as his computer boots up.
he is one of those wannabe-techies and tryies to do-it himself. He has installed a few pieces of hardware in the past and well his computer's speakers (onboard) are either not connected or not posting... he says he never rememberes it posting in the past
But anyways, he has moved his computer and plugged it into a new monitor and it just goes completelly blank in "standby mode".... he tried going BACK to the old one but it doesn't work either.
i haven't checked it out in person, but does anyone have an idea what the problem is?
btw its a "pimped out" gateway... something like a 6600gt, 7200rpm segate, etc... everything is new but the cpu and mobo, go figure
