i had a 22" acer and i will attest that extra real estate on your desktop is better than having a higher ratio. in my opinion, the average eye can't really pick out the difference between 800 and 1000.

but if you're set on getting one of those two, i'd go with the LG. they are a very high quality producer.

ERM - quoting failed ?

For the same price as the LG, why not 2 more inches:
Newegg.com - Acer AL2223Wd Black-Silver 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 800:1 Built in Speakers - Retail

The response time, isn't much different from 2ms to 5ms.[/QUOTE]

Thats the one I'm using - it rocks in my opinion. <my response>

Webfugitive,

Both LG and Samsung monitors produce better image quality than Acer

And 20 inch is more than enough in my opinion.....

I know you are looking for a 20inch, but check out these specs:

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 906BW Black 19" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2000:1 DC - Retail

This is by far my favorite monitor on the market right now. This thing kicks butt.

He probably heard that they were both Korean companies and assumed LG belonged to Samsung... since Samsung is a bigger company. Similar to Kia being owned by Hyundai.... except that's true... or was true... lol
