Default Mobo Onboard Video chip + Video card

If i buy a mobo that has an onboard video chip and also put a video card on it will they work together like crossfire?

Mine was automatic, and I believe all the new motherboards are, but I'm unsure...

Yeah it is usually automatic. Worse thing that happens is you plug the monitor into the graphics card and get a blank screen, in that case move the monitor to the onboard plug and troubleshoot. But I haven't had that problem in 5+ years.
