Arrow Mixing/Music Computer Build

I got this gig to build a high end rig for a friend.

Hes 22 and mixes music and needs alot of memory for all the music.
So Hard Drives are a Big Factor.

So I would like some tips and recomendations for parts.
Budget is around $1000 - $1100

-------------------------------------------------------

What I'm Thinking About:

$325
AMD Opteron 165 1GHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

$80
MSI K8N Neo4-F ATX AMD Motherboard

$140
CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM System Memory

2x @ $37.99
ASUS Black IDE 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With 2X DVD-RAM Read Model DRW-1608P2 BK

Need Help with Video Card and Hard Drive....

Hard Drive - 320GB Western Digital Caviar SATAII 16MB cache - $125.

Videocard - eVGA GeForce 7600GT - $189.

Floppy Drive - NEC Floppy Drive - $6.99

Case - Antec Sonata II w/450W Antec PSU - $100.

$1042 Total, without Shipping and handling. Its probably going to be higher than $1100 with Shipping and handling.

what do you mean the OS on a different HDD? just make 2 or 3 partitions on that drive, and have the OS installed on one of them

nice build for a media mixer...

I like the opty. The extra cache is going to help out with encoding and things of that nature, but you're not paying a lot more for the name. The nature of the work may do better with the cache, and not paying for a higher clocked athlon.

A 7300GS might be a good option for a video card. It has the option of running games, even though it won't be a powerhouse. It has all of the features of the 7 series, minus power.

7600GT would give the guy more than enough Leeway in games. This is something better than the best 6800GS, better than anything GeForce 6 put out.

EDIT: OMG! Sound Card, totally forgot about that, haha. He's a sound guy, so he'll need a Soundcard. Crazy_Gamer, get back with what you want to do. If he needs a Soundcard, the X-Fi XtremeMusic has to be it.
