Default Microsoft will distribute only 64-bit OS starting 2008

Microsoft will distribute only 64-bit OS starting 2008 : TrendPlex

Microsoft Watch - Server - Microsoft Looks to 64-Bit Future

"Microsoft just announced that Windows Vista is the last desktop operating system on 32-bits and that after Windows Server 2008 they will develop only 64-bit operating systems. This is part of Microsoft’s view of the future and it seems that both 64-bit operating systems and multi core desktop systems. In fact Microsoft representatives stated that future machines should have “two cores, eight cores, and ultimately many, many cores”. "

Is it about time, for this?

The 64-bit edition of Vista has been out. This is just saying that, after 2008, they will no longer make 32-bit operating systems.

well seeing as windows is going towards the more Ram = better performance route with vista taking up 40% of ram for preloaded items then it isn't surprising they will only do 64bit
