Default Mic for online play

Hey guys I have been waiting for 'Stargate SG-1: The Alliance' for over a year now and its not far from release. The thing is im going to want a mic for online play but im having trouble deciding on one. There are a lot that I can buy from the very cheap to around £30. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these to mics?(apart from the fact one is ahead set) will the cheap one to my job?

hey are headsets with mics as good? or can you hear through the speakers if you get a mic?

The mics on headsets are fine. There are usually two wires coming out of the headset, one is for the speakers and the other is for the mic. If you only connect the mic in, then you can use your regular speakers, while also using the mic.

dude i hate to have to tell you this but both of thos mics are realy bad!
you want to go with the ones that have big headphones that goes over your whole ear and sel in if you whant an easyer and comfortable experiance

yes, i would suggest a USB headset.. sound quality cant be any better.


these are what i have and i wont go back, even for a top of the line soundcard and speakers.

They sell quite cheaply on ebay

just search for DSP-500

Logitech makes some really nice mic/headsets. I have the cheaper one ($19) and I use it to play WoW and gaming at night. It works fine for that, plus they make a couple of more expensive models. A few are on Newegg, take a look:
