Memory!

Short Story: Basiclly, I need the best DDR400(PC3200)- 184 Pin Memory that money can buy.. or close to it. 2x1gb.. I have no budget.


Long Story: Due to AMD's recent lack of processor support, vista's possible delay, and college, my next rig aint happen very soon.. so, I figure'd id stick it out with my 3700+. Problem, I have 2gb of memory, but its sucky samsung or some other crap, i dont even know what it is.. and its 4 x 512mb..

So, I just want the best memory on the market, with out going wild( ie Gold plated super flashy led plated heatspreaders with 120mm fan type thing)..

Just the best.. interms of performance ( and looks).

I think that the Mushkin Redline RAM is supposed to be really good.

However, that is DDR500, my motherboard is DDR400. Therefore, the extra power that comes from the DDR500 Ram would be of no use to me.

it would help if you ever OC your system (the ddr500). I just ordered some of this stuff: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227056 I got it on ebay for a good price, so I'll post a review of it here when I get it on monday hopefully. Got great reviews though....

DDR500 will be automatically clocked down to DDR400 on the mobo, but will be very helpful in overclocking because you are basically guaranteed DDR500 with good timings when you overclock.

I wasnt planning on overclocking.. always seemed to be too much of a pain to be bothered with..

meh.. I will look into it further.

DFI board and no overclocking? Could have went with a cheaper board.... DFI's are born to overclock... Just my 2 dollars worth...

Well if you get DDR500 if you keep it at DDR400 you can tighten your timings really good w/ out it being unstable.
