If you look at my sig, you can tell im a little outdated, especially with the cpu and mobo. Im thinking of buying a new pc, here are the specs im thinking of:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 CPU

ASUS P5N-E SLI Mobo

Seagate Barricuda 500gb 7200rpm HDD

Corsair DDR2 1GB TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX x2 Ram

Thermaltake Bach VX Silver/Black Midi Tower case (430W psu included)

XFX 8800GT 512mb Graphics Card

LG DVDRW

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card

Card Reader 8 in 1

Windows XP pro sp2

And a bit of lighting and liquid cooling maybe.

Is this alright for about $1500 Aussie dollars?

Edit: Do you think i should use sli and have 2 xfx 8800gt's for another $380?

I say wait for the 45nm processors in January.

Change your motherboard to a P5K or wait for X48/780I motherboard.

Crucial ballistic>Corsiar Twin

Corsair Enermax, Seasonic or Pc power and cooling PSU ftw!

Change the P5n-e to a P35-DS3R or P35-ds3l

change the e6850 to the q6600 because its the exact same price.. plus u get 2 more cores.. if ur settled on 2 cores.. get a e6550 and overclock it.

Get a better PSU, dont skimp on it, the PSU that comes with that case will not be great quality.

I suggest get a Corsair 520HX, and you could maybe get it for cheaper, where are you getting it?

I would say if you can afford it and get it, then definitely go with the SLI setup on the 8800GT's. also yeah definitely go with the corsair psu.

Ive never suggested SLI until now the performance to price ratio on the GTs is outstanding if you can afford it I would say go for it also yea go with the Q6600 its well-priced and overclocks very well also take advantage of Frys or Neweggs sweet deal on 2gb Ballistix for 50
