The xfx 4890 black edition is at 1000mhz out of the box.

So I take it another HD4870 1g would be fine then.. No need to spend $450 on two new cards..

I take it my memory on the card is 1g then, not the core...

the 4890 is actually quite reasonably priced, when you look at some of the new benchmarks with gtx275 1.7gb edition, it usually keeps up or sometime beats the gtx285 until you reach 2560x1600. But since their other cards like the 4850 so low it does make them seem to have lesser value for money.
