Default Max Settings

I have a very dumb question and for that I'm sorry. When people on this board talk about playing games at max settings what exactly does this mean? Max settings for the monitor? for the components you are running? for the game you are playing?

this ensures our systems run the newest games with the full experience possible. you might also hear about fps, this doesn't mean first person shooter which can also be called that. it means the amount of frames per second the game is running much like a video clip. the higher fps the better
