Making the Plunge (Gaming Rig)

Never built one myself but i'm currently aiming to start one. I am in need a some solid advice. I'm not too intimidated by assembly, but components have me a little worried. I don't wanna buy something i'm not gonna appreciate or value. If anyone has some some standard set ups that will run games such as Elder Scrolls, WoW, LoL, Diablo III, Starcraft II, with ease could you please post them. My budget is between $1,250-$1,750. Although i have no experience with it i am interested in overclocking my rig. Also this built is kinda a pre build to my end goal which is to run triple monitors. So keeping it compatible with that would be greatly appreciated. I have't already begun looking for parts but i'm not sure if i am even making the right choices so im a little reluctant to post. If its the details are important just let me know and im will post them up here. Any help is greatly appreciated, i have been looking forward to starting a gaming pc for many years now. BTW OS is probably gonna be windows 8 unless you guys recommend different.
