Default Making gaming pc

So I've decided to try to make my own gaming pc and wondered if all this stuff is pretty good (and compatible), and what recommendations you can give for maybe lowering the price. Here are the items (with links) I am thinking about buying.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ AM2 socket processor.
Gigabyte GAM55SLi-S4 AM2 socket motherboard.
Kingston HyperX 240-pin DDR2/800 SDRAM - 1 GB (2x512 MB).
200 GB Western Digital Caviar SATA 3.0 GB/s hard drive.
SLi-config'd (2) Gigabyte GeForce NVidia 7600 GS cards.
LG 16X DVD +/-RW drive.
LG 16X DVD-ROM 52X CD-ROM drive.
19" LCD Monitor
All in an Aspire X-Pleasure-AL black full-size ATX case.

Monitor: $200

OS (Win XP Pro w/ SP 2): $279.99

TOTAL: $1676.41

(I think the OS is overpriced so I'll prob get it elsewhere and reduce the total cost some.)

I was under the impression that Pro was better for gaming.

Total price dropped to $1350.41, thanks to cheaper OS and AMD price cuts . The power supply didn't seem to get the greatest reviews though.. any recommendations, and do I even really need 600+ watt?

If you use the 7600GS a good 4oo watt is fine (a good one)
If you go the 7900 get a 500watt.

I use the 7600GS in SLI and love them, but if ur into gaming get a 7900GT instead (about the same price).

I got them because they were small, didnt need power and had no fans. They work good but the 7900 is better for gaming. If they were 7600GT's that would be ok. But 2 7600GTs cost more than a 7900GT.

this is my favorite link. It allows you to compare any video card, even SLI and Crossfire.

Yeah, but it's 667 and not 800. I'm told I can't use anything lower than 800. ..
