Default The main thing in Conroes that have over AMD's?

If I'm wrong, correct me but the L1 Cache's on Conroes are 32+32 right? Will the lower versions of Conroe processors with 2mb of L2 cache still have a huge edge over AMD's?

The main thing that the Conroes have over AMD is their better, more efficient architecture. Before, a Athlon 64 only had to have a speed of 1.0Ghz to keep up with a 1.6Ghz Pentium 4. Now, a Conroe only has to have a speed of 1.0Ghz to keep up with a 1.33Ghz Athlon 64.

That, and the price. A $244 2.13Ghz Conroe E6400 is like a $1010 2.8GHz Athlon 64 FX-62.

No such thing as a 1.8Ghz Conroe. There IS a 1.86Ghz version though, and that would be like a 2.47Ghz Dual Core Athlon 64. So a little better than a X2 4800+.
