I'm looking to drop about $800-$1000 in upgrades to my comp. I use it only for gaming and I play Americas Army.

Here is what I have now that I'm looking to eventually upgrade:

CPU: AMD 64 3500
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 PCI-E Dual Channel DDR400
MEMORY: 2 generic 512 sticks
VIDEO CARD: evga Nvidia 6600gt
SOUND CARD: Sound Blaster LIVE! Dolby Digital 7.1

I'm wanting to eventually have:

CPU:AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 Dual Core
MOBO: ASUS NF4SLI-A8N-SLI DX Motherboard - Socket 939, PCI-E, ATX
MEMORY: 2 Mushkin 1GB sticks
VIDEO CARD: evga Nvidia 7800 GTX
SOUND CARD: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS

My question is what should I do first that will directly increase my gaming performance. I'm not going to skimp on anything and I want top notch hardware, but I'm not willing to do it all at once. I was thinking of upgrading the mobo, memory, and sound card first but I don't think that will help my gaming enough. Should I go ahead and get the 7800 or will I bottle neck my system? I've read some things that say generic memory is as good as expensive memory until you start to overclock. Is this true? Just want some input from some of the tech guys of what you would upgrade first to increase gaming performance.

You should get Mobo, CPU and Video Card first those will increase you performance the greats if you cant do that just mobo and video card first then cpu, ram, soundcard.
