Looking For A Good Modular Power Supply

Kingwin is on Ste's brands to avoid list, in his power supply guide:
http://www.techist.com/forums/f76/updated-power-supply-guide-137927/

Plus, 700W is too much power for the system in your sig.

Here are better suggestions, if you want modular:

Corsair 520HX or 620HX
XCLIO Greatpower 550W
HIPER Type-R 580W
Antec NeoPower 550W
Thermaltake Toughpower 650W

You can also check my http://www.techist.com/forums/f76/recommended-pc-components-159027/ guide, for additional recommendations for power supplies.

I'm running a Hiper Type-R 580W, and it's working well.
running:
AMD 6000+ at ~3450MHZ (ADX model)
2 x 3870's in crossfire
6 x hard drives
1 x IDE DVD burner
8 x 120mm case fans
1 x MCP655 water pump

I'd recommend the Corsair HX620W. What's wrong with the Thermaltake 700w? I have a 750W and I like it quite a lot....they would be much more popular if they were priced lower as they give tons of solid, stable power, are quiet, modular, and look great.

Antec NeoHE,
Corsair HX,
Enermax Infiniti,
Thermaltake Toughpower

all good brands.

PC Power and Cooling make the best non modular PSUs, IMO.

There's nothing wrong with it. I just think it's too much power for his system. Even if he adds more peripherals.

Nah I was referring to the 700W thermaltake already in his sig. Having too large of a power supply isn't "bad", it's just that you may have spent too much for your needs.
