8800 GTS 640MB(G80) isn't a good GPU. It is old and the 8800 GTS 512MB(G92) is much better. I don't think you will be able to play Crysis on medium settings with it.

it probably would play it on med, depending on res. but i agree it's old and gets very hot, the 9800gt is loads better.

Ya, it runs hot, and is based on an older architecture, actually even g92 is outdated now.....

I played regular Crysis on medium-high on a overclock x1800xl with 1gb of ram and a amdx2 3800 @ 2.6ghz. I would think a 8800gts 640mb would be able to handle medium.

Most DX9 cards can play almost on all High on XP and DX10 cards can do the same on XP, turn it to Vista however, and things drop performance

Seriously there are cards now that are this cheap:

Newegg.com - XFX PVT96OSDFH GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB 192-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-R467D3-512I Radeon HD 4670 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100226L Radeon HD 3850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

They have about the same performance and run way cooler (the bottom most card I have)
