Thumbs up A Little assistance please...

ok i'm drawing up PC specs for a friend, i want to build the system around a E6600.

A little help picking the mobo and ram would be great so suggestions and comments welcome.

ideally i'd like to get all components, or atleast most, from www.overclockers.co.uk

Cheers

Edit: Suggestions for hard drives would be good too, this guys a media hog so i'm thinking 3 or 4 300GB jobbies. I've been looking at the maxtor diamond max plus 10's.

Since 6600 is so new (not enough experience)I cant offer any help.

But as to HDDs I wouldnt go Maxtor. Take a look at WD or Seagate. Try to get 16mb buffer harddrives as well.(a bit faster)

well the budget for the whole PC (excluding monitor) is £1200 but the guy isn't a hardcore gamer and he'll never overclock so superduper mega expensive RAM would be a waste.

I would go with a Seagate Barracuda, it is what I have, works fine, extremely fast, and nice and quiet.
