If you're going to buy a cheap monitor that only has an AGP interface make sure the video card you selected comes with a DVI-to-AGP converter.

umm no. and im sure he appreciates your help, but advertising for a company on these boards is not a good idea :/

any monitor is pci-e compliant, cedjunior just mispoke, he meant DVI-VGA, i think your best bet would be either that BenQ or an Acer AL1711FB Black 17"

Yes Acer are also good, you might want to look around a bit to see whats about. I wouldn't buy a monitor without seeing a few reviews though.

Good brands:

Acer
Benq (not all models are great)
Viewsonic (probably too expensive)
NEC (probably too expensive)
Samsung (definately get some reviews first, some are good. some suck)

there are a few others but not off top of my head.

you dont want to get into shipping things overseas, you have to pay US tax and UK tax and any other charges Customs can think of + postage is enormous which makes RMA a nightmare.

good UK companies that I use:

Scan.co.uk
Overclockers.co.uk
dabs.com
Ebuyer.com (very dicey site lately, database seems to be complete bollox)
CCLonline.com
Aria.co.uk (small stock, prices vary)
lowestonweb.com

there are others
