Default Latop Video Card for Gaming Question

ok, I'm buying a laptop and I want one that will be able to run high end games as well. I am def getting 17 inch widescreen. It will be 3 ghz or higher. A gig of ram, and I'm trying to figure out which video card to use. I used to build PC's years ago, but I've been out of the game for so long I don't know whats good anymore. And the technology has changed somewhat it seems

I've been looking at vid cards with 256 megs VRAM but if a card is better with only 128 megs VRAM let me know.

What card should I put in the laptop to run high end games liek Doom 3 and FEAR from Sierra???

One of the mobile 6800's would be the best cards for a laptop
