This is the rig i plan on ordering and building in the next few days: ($AU)

Asus P5N-E SLI Motherboard $152.90
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU $325.00
Seagate Barracuda 500Gb 7200RPM 32Mb SATA 2 HDD $199.00
x2 XFX 8800GT 512MB Graphics Card $827.20
Antec NeoPower Blue 650W ATX Power Supply $193.60
Corsair DDR2 2GB PC-6400/800 (2xXMS2 1GB) TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX Ram $101.20
Antec 900 Case $165.00
Thermaltake CL-P0333 CPU Cooler $69.00

I already have the other hardware. (DVDRW, ect.)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks good but should get crucial ballistix instead of the corsair memory i tried both them personally i like the crucial more. Also why not get a corsair 620W PSU.

P5N-E and a quad...no no not a good combo. Do you really need SLI? What resolution do you run?

And yes I suggest a corsair hx520w or 620w...

the corsair psus are not only hard to find but expensive in Australia. same ballistix its hard to get hands on. rams fine, but i would rather get 1 8800gts g92 than sli gt's. i believe sli is a waste. get an ip35 motherboard or a p5k etc.

i would get a p35. ive had bad overclocking problems with this 680i, not saying that the 650i will but i dont really like this motherboard with my quad. fsb holes or wateva they call em. i rekon a good p35 and single card is better for ur money sli is outdated quickly.

SLI is a waste unless you are gaming at super super high resolutions.

You're much better off with a budget P35 like a gigabyte DS3R or L

If he gets Q6600 now then he don't need to upgrade to Yorkfield

He can skip Yorkfield and get Nehalem which is supposed to come out on late 2008
