:cool:Ok so after a while talking on another thread to surge and vernong, i have come up with this system, and will shortly buy them, as long as you guys think this will be a good system. If you see anything you think could be improved, please tell me and i have decided i don't actaully mind spending a TAD more if i must to make my system work better :))

ok here goes : (INC vat.) (IM FROM GB)

MOTHERBOARD : Asus P5E Intel X38 Socket 775 DDR2 PCI-E SATA II Raid GB LAN Firewire Motherboard
£132.78

CPU : Intel Quad Core Q6600 95Watt G0 Stepping (This is the one that Overclocks) 4 x 2.40Ghz 8Mb Cache 1066 FSB Quad Core Processor
£127.49

GRAPHICS CARD : HIS HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 TVO/Dual DVI, HDMI, PCI Express Graphics Card - Retail
£123.32

MEMORY : OCZ 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 240Pin PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Edition
£98.70 Please tell me if this is compatible with my motherboard etc. because i'm not sure about the PC2-8500.

HDD : Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA II 7200rpm 32Mb Cache 11ms 300Mb/s Hard Drive
£52.88

PSU : Corsair TX 750W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU
£81.08

COOLER : I was recommended a Xigmatek HDT - S1283 heatsink, but the site i'm ordering from don't seem to supply any Xigmatek coolers. Please suggest me something else.

TOTAL /without cooler = £616.25

please review this thourougly

hmmmm, i've been thinking should i replace the HIS 4850 with this one

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Graphics Card - Retail
£190.35

And the motherboard, is it good ? or should i change it

EDIT : i still need a nice cooler cos i plan to overclock, shall i go the rifle, (which rifle is it again? :))

if i replaced the gfx card, new total becomes : £683.28

EDIT : How do you do crossfire? :) always wondered this

EDIT : the q9450 seems quite reasonable , is it worth it --- you get a higher cache and fsb speed , just wanted to know, is it just as easy and compatible to overclock

yes the PC8500 is compatible with that motherboard.
i'm also going to go with the Q6600 as i heard it is the best bang for the buck plus i heard of people overclocking to 3.2ghz.
