Default Laptop Chassis

I was wondering, can you buy a laptop chassis and put parts in it? I bet my friend 5 bucks that you couldn't.

it is possible

obviously you cant update certain things but on that model you can upgrade optical drive, memory, hard drive, processor and i have read of models with upgradable graphics cards.

You can't get the chassis and expect the motherboard to fit in. Unlike desktops, there is not really a strict standard for laptop motherboards. This gives OEM manufacturers the ability to make laptops anyway they want to fit their own proprietary chassis.

You can get barebone laptops that are a chassis with a motherboard already inside. Thats what IfYouHaveToAsk showed you. Just simply a barebone.

Yea you can, buy a laptop take everything out, and tada, a laptop chassis .. but that'll cost you a lot of cash, because you can't really resell laptop parts .
