Will you notice a difference in temps? Maybe a degree if your lucky.

But the DDC takes up a lot less space.

If you get the DDC then make sure to leave some room under the bottom for a little airflow because it can get very hot.

sticking a fan on it should be good enough right? Does it really vibrate that much to use those absorption pads underneath it? I plan on putting it in the same compartment as my mobo and stuff and not in the psu bay like most people do
 
As long as there is airflow around it you should be fine.

It's when they get put in a place with no airflow where they have problems.

I'll probably place it in the HDD bay. There will be a 120mm blowing on it and multiple other case fans exhausting hot air.
 
That should be fine. Like aspire said, as long as it gets some airflow.

I think the stories of them overheating are mostly from people who mounted them on some sort of soundproof insulation mat...and that would just make the poor thing overheat.
