i only had about 400$ and i couldnt find a 3870x2 thatd be 400$ including taxes. the 9800gtx is looking good to me with a quad at 3.0 and it oced to 740 and 1900 on the memory it scored 15.8k in 3d marck 06, now they max this card can do from what ive read is 840 and 2300 on the memory and 2150 on the shader clock. aswell as my quad at 3.7 i should score a nice 16/17k.

dude, the 9800GTX is NOT a good idea... I highly suggest you cancel that order ASAP for two reasons..

1) Gaming-wise, you'll barely be able to tell the difference from an 8800GTS, even an 8800GT for that matter, save your money, you're just buying an overclocked version of an 8800 with a 9xxx name-change, it's the same G92 core, you really won't see a difference, trust me, the reviews that show 'increased performance' are within margin of error, like 2-4 fps at most at 1600x1200 (don't even bother counting the 1280x1024 results...), considering that the 8800GT is significantly cheaper, your pretty much paying about $25 per FPS with the 9800GTX...

2) GT200 (9900GTX) is just around the corner, July-ish, and will make these things obsolete very quickly, considering that the new GTX is speculated to beat out the 9800GX2..

forget NCIX, their prices are dumb

an 8800GTS is about $300 and a 9800GTX is about $345 - if you look in the right places, the 8800GTS prices on NCIX aren't really updated that well

regardless, I was recommending an 8800GT instead, considering you can pick one up for $164.99

you really won't see a major difference between the three, they are all architecturally identical (the GT has 12 less SPs, but this is hardly much of an issue)

but... if you're willing to keep that GTX, you'll probably pull off some good benching scores in 3DMark06 and probably steal the crown from me as Single Card King in the 3DMark06 thread :D
