Default It's time to build, what processor, make the vote!!

Keep in mind I want a fast computer for the following things:

1.making music, and encoding music....as well as video..(fruity loops, adobe audition, m-audio recording and pro-tools)

2.gaming.....and never having to worry about how much stuff i have open! lol

Here is the 2 systems i have to choose from...you make the vote!
I am ordering parts in the tomorrow!



option #1 "Quad Core Q9550"
Quad Core Q9550 2.83 ghz 12 mb cache 1333 FSB
Asus 750i SLI motherboard 1333 FSB
Gskill 8 GB DDR 2 pc-800 mhz
500 gb WD HD with 32 mb cache
8800 GT's SLI 16x16 2.0


option #2 "Intel core i7 920"
Intel Core i7 920 2.66 ghz 8 mb cache
gigabyte UD5 motherboard
Gskill 3 gb DDR 3 pc-1333 mhz
640 gb WD HD black version - with 32 mb cache
8800 GT's SLI 16x16 2.0

i was looking at the msi on newegg and they say it doesn support sli? the only one i have found that does, ewiz.com sells and its 299 and the one on msi's website...called the eclipse..

what board do you know for sure supports sli?

Here is my motherboard options, dont know if the first one is SLI compatible, its a great price but what do you guys think? i think that last one is the one to get!

If you can afford it go for the Asus. It has been getting stellar reviews.

the gigabyte is cheaper and is just as good.

why don't you do 4850's sli or maybe just get a 4870 and sli later?

a 4850 is ati which is crossfire, i am using a 8800 GT and maybe a another 8800 GT possibly a pair of 9800 GT's..

ohh man i voted for q9550 when i meant to vote for i7 xD, def go with the i7, no point in buying the old tech now seems i7 is becoming more mainstream fast. i agree go with tthe gigabyte, asus stuff is just the most common thats why you see so many good review, just liek the p45 chipset, gigabyte was best at first untill asus boards became cheaper and took over because they are the most known brand.
