I have never seen one of those before. I wonder what the 8mb cache would do for it... The write speeds aren't any better than my normal 40 dvd burner.... But no ribbon cables! Can't beat that!

Thats the exact optical drive I have. Don't let the white faceplate put you off, it comes with a black one you can replace it with.

OO sata burners are out?? sweeeet i need to get my hands on some of those.

you need drivers to install them, unlike IDE drives

Id like to get one, but I wouldn't want to spend $120 on an optical drive. You could easily get dual NEC IDE burners for that price

Haha dont wanna spend the price? You where back when they came out. Oh wait nvm you said youd rather stay w/ a CD/RW. (Im refering to "you" as everybody that says something like that, not a personal attack)

I like my IDE drives. Not for any kind of performance reasons. I like the UV reactive round cables. My case would look naked without those glowing yellow things in there.
