Everyone is talking about how much cheaper the Q6600's will be but are all intel cpu's going to drop? Including E6600, and do you guys know to what price?

Well people said the drop is on June 22 and I read somewhere a chart on the prices lowered.
The E6600 is being lowered either 15% or $15 I forgot.

It's probably 15% becuase the Q6600 is being lowered to only $270

EDIT: Here is Intels price map. It doesn't say much about the old chips but oh well.

Model------Core-----Speed (GHz)--FSB (MHz)----L2-----Cores--Price (Jul22)
Q6700--Kentsfield----------2.66----------1066------4MBx2-----4--------$530
Q6600--Kentsfield----------2.40----------1066------4MBx2-----4--------$266
E6850-----Conroe----------3.00----------1333------4MB--------2--------$266
E6750-----Conroe----------2.66----------1333------4MB--------2--------$183
E6550-----Conroe----------2.33----------1333------4MB--------2--------$163
E6540-----Conroe----------2.33----------1333------4MB--------2--------$163
E4500-----Conroe----------2.22-----------800------2MB--------2--------$133
E4400-----Conroe----------2.00-----------800------2MB--------2--------$113

I don't know about the 1333 FSB chips yet really...considering that I believe the 1066 chips will overclock more.

hey will this price drop be in the uk as well, if it is , when will it happen?

We will not know until the chips have been benchmarked but I think its fair to say that the Q6600 is a better option since Quad-Cores are starting to help more and more.

I would go with the q6600 over a e6850 since a program that only uses a a single or dual core probably wouldn't see much of a benefit from the higher clocks you would get out of the e6850. Plus more and more things will take advantage of quad core and you can multitask better.

Though I would like to know what kind of overclocks people will get from the q6600 and the e6850.
