DailyTech - Intel Sets "Penryn" Launch Date

untitledpw7.jpg

These new 45nm Quad-core Xeon will be out on November 11, and the "E" series will have only have 80-watt TDP, the "X" series have 120-watt TDP

The "L" series will come out on Q1 2008 and it will have only 50-watt TDP !!!

From this older thread you can see the spec of all 45nm Xeon

That is really low power consumption, for a quad-core.

Heres some more info on the power consumptions, on the new Xeons:
DailyTech - Intel Announces Two New Xeons, Reduces Power Consumption

The lower 80-watt and 50-watt TDP binned quad-core processors do not see too much drop in idle power consumption with the new G0 stepping. However, the 120-watt binned processors cut idle power consumption in half with the G0 stepping, going from 50-watts to a mere 25-watts at idle.

25W on idle!
