So I'm building a new PC. To start out I'm a gamer, a web developer, a video editor, a graphics editor, and I pretty much do it all. So tell me what you think of the parts I chose for my purposes.

If any of these parts are known to be crappy then please tel me. My budget is about $1,550 not including tax and shipping. The price of those items comes out to $1,521.

Thanks for any help!

Yeah, but in order to buy a better PSU i would have to compensate by lowering the budget on another item.

Cut the extra hard drive, slash the aftermarket fan (unless you plan on OC'ing), and cut that speaker set. Those are all unneccisary for now, but a new power supply is very important.

Get a good power supply, if you use the stock PSU, you have a chance of it being cheap and frying your system... which will mean that all 1500 of your computer will be useless...

Cases that come with them aren't reliable.

I don't believe that, I use the PSU that came with my case and it has worked flawlessly for the past 3 months.

Anyway, you can just use the PSU until you can afford to buy another if you want.

Cut the aftermarket fan, and one of the DVD drives and pick up a better power supply like b1gapl said. It's better to cut on someother things than to cut your power supply.

Buy the better power supply, then sell the old one to get enough money for the 2nd DVD drive. Then wait a few months and if you then feel the need to OC it, then order the Zallman.

These guys speak the truth man.. you may end up regretting it if you skimp on your PSU. You are not going to need anything extravegant but you will want to get something decent if you plan on OCing ure cpu at all (which the 6600's are known for). I am sure that the 500W psu that comes with the case would work but if you are willing to put this much money out already and investing the time to make sure everything works properly then yea.. upgrade the PSU.. doesnt need to be more than 500W, just something with trusted brand name ..(wow that sounds so sad).. OCZ, Antec, Fortron, Enermax.. etc..

i agree with these guys on the powersupply. cut a hard drive and a dvd burner from your list and invest in a solid powersupply. its not that the stock powersupply are always crappy, but most of the time they are crappy and fry up your whole system. the one i am using right now is a stock powersupply and i have had it for a month, without any problems yet, but i have read so many things on powersupply faliure that once in a while i am scare that my system will die. i am saving for a nice powersupply, but even if my system dies, it wont be much of a deal because it is a old system, but for u, it will be like spending 1500$ for a dead computer. so my friend, if u want to take advantage of ur new gaming system, then get a nice power supply so that u can enjoy it to the fullest rather then to have concerns about the PSU.

good luck
