i think the only use for an extreme edition would be if you had phase change cooling and/or was trying to go for some OC'ing record :|

u would still need special cooling if ur going for ocing record

yea i kinda just said and/or because i knew someone would say something about liquid nitrogen lol...

if i was going to get any high end quad it'd be the Q9550 after the price drop :|

At this point, i wouldnt even bother buying a 9550 becuase bloomfield is on the horizon.

No...ddr3 offers only about 10% more performance for 2-3 times the cost. Thus its useless at the moment.
